As in a ritual, these elements have complex messages and layers of meanings. The simply meditation implied in the many hanging incense sticks reflects the diverse spirituality that combines Taoism and Queer politics. It brings the timeless wisdom of meditation as witness the artist’s solitary journey from fear to freedom in a contemporary Australia. At the end is a healing meditation and tells story, a mantra of rosary beads counted up and down through small fingers over the uneven surface of repeated words like a prayer to our universe.
