Ritual teabags (Ritual Collages)

The work based on techniques borrowed from the rituals and traditions of Taoism, Islamic, Hinduism, Shinto and Christian ceremonies of the artist’s family rituals in North Sumatra, Tangerang, Bali, Indonesia, Taiwan and Germany, which involves folding, writing, twining, embroidering, praying, washing, drinking, eating, crying and burning. By looking closer at what is inside, beneath and between things a subtle and mysterious reading of his belongings, and the sense of belonging will be offered.

The used teabag sheet installation responds to the memory of the artist beautiful Christian mother and his own healing through collecting the used teabags from many cups of tea in order to explore cross culture idea between East and West mythologies.
