Ritual Looking For The Enlightenment

Jayanto has created installations with folded paper lanterns and lead workshops in their making in the past few years. To expand the project, he has made a colourful lantern for Ritual Looking For The Enlightenment’s performance, which he has asked people to hold the lantern while standing still. They have been photographed from behind as a silent figure in a silent landscape as an offering to the individuality of enlightenment. These performance “pilgrim – from Indonesia, Australia to Germany” lantern photographs celebrate the diversity of our living society and repetitious practice of prayer.
